Dawn’s background is in applied arts and as a design practitioner has exhibited and retailed her work nationally. She is presently involved in doctoral research studying historical philosophical instruments in a design context both cataloguing and testing a collection of specific 19th century optical devices at the History of Science Museum at Oxford University. Her research explores the contextual and theoretical relationships between a philosophical instrument, its designer and the wider audience. Dawn currently works as a tutor for IDI alongside other university lecturing roles in historical and critical theory and design visualisation.
