Alicia studied Photography, Film and Imaging at Edinburgh Napier University. Her photography sits between documentary and staged imagery, exploring environmental politics of space and communities. Her portraits of a Scottish community standing up to Donald Trump are held in the National Galleries of Scotland collection and were celebrated in a Scottish Parliamentary Motion. She teaches workshops at Street Level Photoworks, Glasgow, and her teaching portfolio includes UWS, Edinburgh College, ECA, City of Glasgow College and Aberdeen University. In 2014, Alicia was awarded The Royal Scottish Academy Morton Award. Recent exhibitions include VU Photo (Quebec City), Scotland House (Brussels), The Fleming Collection (London) and Gracefield Arts Centre & Diffusion: Cardiff International Festival of Photography. Recent publications include the 'Professional Photography: The New Global Landscape Explained', Focal Press 2014 and 'European Prospects' Ffotogallery 2014.
