Online education provider, the Interactive Design Institute (IDI) has appointed Nigel Banister as its new chairman.
Nigel was formerly CEO at Manchester Business School Worldwide where he was responsible for the development of the Global MBA, a blended-format program connecting 3,000 students across seven MBS Global MBA centres: Manchester, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Miami. Previously, Nigel was involved in major online learning initiatives for the UK Government and with Informatics Holdings Ltd – a Singapore listed company.
“Nigel is not only widely recognised as an expert in transnational, blended and executive education, but he is also a commercially experienced strategist who is aware of quality issues in Higher Education. Nigel has an enviable track record in both the private and public sectors and we are delighted to welcome him to the IDI team”, said Director of the Interactive Design Institute, Michael Stewart.
The Interactive Design Institute provides online courses for students at degree and masters level in more than 70 countries.

The Interactive Design Institute, founded in 2004 and employing 30 staff as well as a network of tutors across the UK, is a collaborative partner of the University of Hertfordshire. IDI also works with corporate partners to provide learning services and delivers The Writers’ Academy creative writing courses on behalf of the publisher Penguin Random House.

Nigel Banister was officially appointed as Chairman of IDI on 4th March 2016.
