"As a full-time architectural designer with 55 working hours per week in Hong Kong, It has been an unforgettable experience for me to undertake part-time study at the same time. I have had a great experience of designing a contemporary art gallery from an existing old building in Hong Kong.
"To create a visually striking contemporary design, I chose peacock as the main design concept. The pattern of the feather creates an amazing picture. Also, the colours of the peacock feathers’ ‘eye’ became one of the sophisticated elements of the gallery. It’s like a massive feather covering the extension area, which succeeds in being eye-catching and modern.
"The main alteration to the gallery is the glass panel rooftop which allows for more daylight to enter, and saves energy."
“Styles come and go. Good design is a language, not a style.” –Massimo Vignelli
