"A bold and distinctive response to a typographic brief, my work utilises two principal motifs to promote an exhibition exploring western attitudes to death.
"The first: a ‘dissected’ logotype, which can be pulled apart to represent the degrees to which society is divorced from its understanding of death. Additional design functionality allows the two halves of the logotype to frame content – drawing attention to relevant imagery and text.
"The second (and simplest) idea: using an upturned capital ‘U’ from the Museo Slab font to create visual metaphors in applications, including both a headstone and gateway arch (or heavenly gate).
"The applications facilitate the visitor journey: from raising awareness through digital and printed outdoor posters; encouraging discovery using the website; finally arriving at materials that support the exhibition itself, including signage and exhibition guidance in both print and digital formats."
