"I enjoy exploring the use of illustration and experimental/hand-crafted typography within my work, focusing predominantly on branding, packaging, books and print design.

"The use of traditional image-making techniques, coupled with digital elements makes for more interesting results in my opinion - with evidence of a human touch creating further engagement with the audience.

"The aim of my Final Major Project was to create a new visual identity for cigar brand 'La Gloria Cubana' - maintaining associations with luxury, prestige, exclusivity, quality, heritage and craftsmanship, but evolving it for today's contemporary audience.

"The final logo retains a traditional badge style, but is simplified for a modern era with the script lettering being custom designed. For packaging, quality of materials was an important consideration for a high-end appeal. The visual language was also extended to a specialist magazine advert, with a reinterpretation of the smoking girl theme that the brand is famous for."
