After researching thoroughly online, Derek decided that IDI offered the best opportunity for someone in full-time employment to earn a degree qualification. As a Graphic Designer for the NHS, he enrolled on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course with IDI, delivered in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, with a view to improving his knowledge and skills.
“When I was younger, I never really had the opportunity to go from school to university. It was nice to have the opportunity later on in my career to go back and do something that I had always wanted to do.”
Initially concerned that studying remotely could be isolating, Derek soon discovered that providing unlimited support is a priority for everyone at IDI. His tutors were quick to respond to all his queries and help from the IDI support staff was always forthcoming. The ability to network with graphic design students from all over the world also helped inspire his creativity and encouraged him to value different approaches to his own graphic design work.
