I always had a very tactile approach with art projects at school, and I’ve really enjoyed being encouraged to incorporate mixed media into my designs.
Taking part in this course has allowed me to develop my typography skills, and have the confidence to be experimental with type in my designs.
For my final major project I created a name, logo and marketing material for Virgin’s new flight & hotel package offering. The key aims of the project were to communicate the fun and positive brand personality, the ease of booking and the exciting, adventurous feeling of making spontaneous plans.
To stand out from the competition, I used inspiration from predicted design trends for 2019 and chose to go down a friendly and inviting nostalgic route with the illustration style and colour palette.
