COVID-19 update: All online teaching and learning is proceeding as normal

“My project concerns gender representations in Shakespeare, culminating in a poster advertising a forthcoming fictional exhibition for the RSC on this subject. I was particularly interested in exploring female/male actors playing opposite parts (such as Tamsin Greig as Malvolia and Zainab Jah as Hamlet), kabuki theatre (which shares similarities with Shakespeare, such as the storyline of ‘King Lear’) and costume.

“I like the outcomes of my work to be divergent and challenging to the viewer’s understanding of perceived ideas, mixing digital media with traditional drawing and painting to create original pieces – for this project, I developed a typeface using the negative shapes in Shakespeare’s signatures.”
