“The book industry is undergoing a period of disruption in the form of digital technology. My project investigates this in an educational context in order to determine ways to maximise learning and encourage deeper thinking in the classroom.
“As a teacher of art and design I believe evaluation is one of the most important skills in my subject. It is key to students being able to think deeply about their work and develop their creative outcomes. However, it is not an area that all students find natural or easy to do.
“After extensive research and data gathered from my audience groups I have developed a range of teaching resources aimed specifically at helping students to evaluate. The resources include a textbook aimed specifically at art and design students aged 14-18. The book is accompanied by an educational application that teaches and reinforces the same principles, and a promotional website.”
