“This project is a photographic documentation of three estates being regenerated in London. The selection of images document the buildings that are being demolished and regenerated in whatever state I found them in. The ‘red line’ refers to the boundaries of the estates, the divide between these estates and the surrounding area.
“I am using photography as a way of interpreting and preserving changes to the built environment. I want the buildings to speak for themselves, and use juxtapositions to tell the story and gesture towards wider social and economic changes. I am not romanticising these buildings or taking the pictures in a way that degrades them, I am just showing them in their rawest form. These images preserve what was.
“This documentary style of architectural photography allows the viewer to find their own emotional response. I want you, the viewer, to form your own reaction.”
