- Interior Design Courses
I tutor on the Postgraduate Programme in Art and Design and the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design.
Interior Design was presented at college as a course which encompassed product design, furniture design, environments, architecture and surface design. I find this range of specialisms within one subject appealing.
The broad scope and remit of interior design has allowed me the opportunity to work with many leading practitioners across creative disciplines including that of fashion, textiles, ceramic production, digital communication and product design.
Working in collaboration with other creatives is always an inspiring process as it reveals new working methodologies and approaches which ultimately inform your own practice.
My greatest achievement
I would consider the range and quality of projects that I have been involved with as my main achievement to date.
Through my practice I have worked on a wide range of project types and scales which have included branded environments, service propositions, furniture and bespoke homeware products for leading international clients. These clients include Jaguar, BP, Etihad Airways, Emaar Properties, Nuffield Health, The London Architectural Biennale, Dubai Airport and EE.
I also regard my role in supporting students assimilate, grow skills and feel confident about themselves within the workplace as a highlight across my work experience to date.
My Personal Interests and Projects
Through self-initiated projects and collaborations I have engaged in active research around the design of modern objects. Themes and subjects explored through this process have included the notion of product mobility, the meaning and value within objects, the process of design and the need for thought-provoking work.
The ideas generated through these collaborative projects have been shared through exhibitions and events to engage the public in design.
