Having graduated in Graphic Design I found that it was a love of drawing for children that gave her the push to focus on my illustration career and later gained a Distinction in my Masters degree with the University of Hertfordshire.

I’ve worked on projects with Harper Collins, Ransom Publishing, East Lancashire Railway and Rochdale Council. I now focus my time working on picture books as well as educational illustrations both for print and screen based media. My work is mainly digital but I try to maintain my traditional skills in printmaking in my own time.

My greatest achievement

My greatest achievement after raising my daughter to be strong and independent would be completing my Masters degree with Distinction whilst upholding my teaching jobs and running my freelance illustration and design business.

My inspiration

Everything from the sheep in the field, artists in general to children’s illustrations from the 1960s and contemporary illustrations from the Netherlands. I’m easily amazed at life and I think this is what continues to make me want to learn about the world.
