- Graphic Design
I was brought up with an implicit awareness of social justice and creativity.
I completed my Masters in 2014 in the History of Design and Material Culture. My dissertation focussed on the book as an object of desire. It investigated the current trend in British independent publishing which is paying as much attention to the materiality of the book as the content.
I then completed my PGCE in 2006, with research based on reaching the hard to reach FE students, motivational teaching as a response to barriers to learning. My Bachelor degree is in graphic design from what was Norwich School of Art and Design and is now Norwich University of the Arts.

Screen prints based on tv show, ‘Mad Men’. The colours were sourced from a 1958 Vogue cover.
My greatest achievement
This is a very difficult question and one I have thought about for a number of days! I suppose it is because it is a deeply personal question to ask. I have thought of it in terms of professional achievement, but then think that is covered by the employment highlight question. Writing and submitting a 20,000 word MA dissertation whilst 7 months pregnant was fairly significant!
Other employment highlights include being told by Paula Scher that my portfolio was “highly crafted”.
The creativity of great designers, in both process and solution.
