- Graphic Design
I am a strong believer in communication and have always been fascinated with how imagery and text can interweave to persuade, inform and influence, which is the role I feel graphic design has. My degree was specifically Information Graphics, as from early days I was absorbed in the message and function as much as the look of communications.
Prior to work lecturing, I worked for several design agencies, working for blue chip clients such as GM, BP, British Airways, First Direct as well as being fortunate enough to work on award winning work for Visa.
Before working as a tutor for IDI, I was a Pathway Leader of two Foundation Degrees in Graphic Design and Fine Art at Hertford Regional College, also validated by the University of Hertfordshire, I also worked in further education at National Diploma and Foundation level.
My greatest achievement
I am currently enjoying building a new branding company as a design duo with a student from my very first year of lecturing.
Students constantly surprise and delight me. I enjoy communicating with the diverse cultures and perspectives drawn together in the IDI studio environment. Besides that I can be obsessive about type application and visual patterns within the natural environment.
About my work
I support my work with sketching and printmaking which has fed into the branding of my new company. My professional practice within my business has enhanced my knowledge of SMEs and how design can impact their success. I am constantly upgrading my technical and design thinking skills.
